Day 1 Galapagos

Welcome at the Baltra airport and free transfer by bus to the tip of the Itabaca canal, where you will proceed by a public ferry service in the Island of Santa Cruz. Transport will be waiting in order to transfer you to Puerto Ayora, area where the hotels are located on the Island.

Lunch.

Visit to the Scientific Charles Darwin Station, where you can learn more about the Galápagos Islands; the species that live in this enchanted place, its origin, the theory of Evolution, the conservation programs, and observe some Giant Turtles in captivity. Accommodation.

Day 2 Galapagos. 

Breakfast at hotel.

Excursion in yacht to one of the following Islands: Plazas, Seymour, Bartolomé, Santa Fe or similar ones. Lunch included and return to Puerto Ayora to accommodation.

 

Day 3 Galapagos. Bay tour of Puerto Ayora

Breakfast at the Hotel.

The trip starts at the Municipal Dock of Puerto Ayora. Up to 16 Passengers take a boat which after approximately 20 minutes of navigation arrives to a small Islet just outside the bay called La Loberia (Home of the Sealions). Here the guests have the opportunity to swim and snorkel with playful, curious sea lions and colourful fish for around 30-45 minutes. Afterwards, the cruise continues to the Channel of Love, which surrounds the guests with romantic scenery due to its turquoise colored water . Blue-footed boobies also enjoy this special atmosphere. 

The Channel of Sharks is a must see, and if you´re feeling lucky, plenty of white tip reef sharks can be observed from the cliff above their channel, this is followed by the “Beach of the Dogs” with Opuntias and a large colony of marine iguanas. After a 30 minute walk through an unreal red landscape.

The turbulent water meets with the volcanic rocks and the guests are able to observe pelicans and blue-footed boobies as well as other Galapagos inhabitants in their daily life.

Finally, the trip leads the group through salt fields, where the famous Galapagos salt is harvested, to Las Grietas. An amazing canyon opens up within 15 Meter high walls; who dares to jump into the crystal clear water and be an official Galapagos Cliff diver? This is a magnificent site for refreshing yourself in barely salty water, protected from the sun and with great photo opportunities.

Highlands of Santa Cruz

The local guide leaves with the group in the afternoon towards the Highlands of Santa Cruz.

Driving through the rural area of the island the travelers can experience the agriculture of the archipelago as well as the diversity of its habitats. Surrounded by a wild landscape and different species of flora and fauna, it is possible to glance finches which are famous for being the basis of Charles Darwin´s evolution theory. 

Watch the famous Galapagos land tortoises in their natural environment and learn how the private ranches aid to protect these special animals and their habitat. You can hear their sounds while they are trying to eat the leaves of the trees or searching for delicious nourishment. Tortoises of all different ages and sizes are gathering here: Small young ones with shining carapaces and older ones, a little bit more ragged, with partly cracked carapaces –signs of an extraordinary long life.

The well-known Lava Tunnels are another amazing experience! Formed by the lava floods of the volcanoes they range from the highlands down to sea level. The track is collapsed in several places. Nevertheless, a track of about 30 minutes hike is intact and gives the observer an insignt into their formation and, where the tunnel gets too small to pass by, or the collapsed rock blocks the way they still hold many undiscovered mysteries. The personalized guide will share with you in detail the story of the origin of these tunnels.


Day 4: Galapagos - Guayaquil - Lima

This morning you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Lima via Guayaquil.

Day 5: Lima - Cusco

Breakfast in the hotel.

Breakfast in the hotel. This morning you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Cusco. Transfer to Hotel.

City tour of Cusco that includes the Plaza de Armas, Cusco’s main square; the Cathedral, its extremely sober renaissance façade contrast with the baroque and plateresque style of its interior, and Koricancha, a famous temple dedicated to the sun.
Then visit to the nearby remains: Kenko, ancient ceremonial center dedicated to the earth, Puca Pucara, administrative and military center, Tambomachay, important place of worship dedicated to the water, and Sacsayhuaman, a cyclopean fortress built for the defense of Cuzco.

Day 6: Cusco  - Machu - Picchu - Cusco

Breakfast in the hotel.
Depart Cusco with train (time and departure train station might change, it is subject to availability when doing the reservations). Arrive in Aguas Calientes station and transfer to Machu Picchu by bus.
Guided visit of the citadel which is totally built of stone blocks, fitted with masterful precision. This fabulous city has houses, temples, warehouses, a large central square, all connected by narrow roads and steps. Lunch at a restaurant next to the citadel.
Depart Aguas Calientes with train (time and departure train station might change it is subject to availability when booking your reservations). Hotel accommodation. 

Day 7:    Cusco - La Paz -  Uyuni

Breakfast in the hotel. This morning you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to la Paz.

Day 8:     Uyuni Salt Flats

Breakfast in the hotel.

Visit the Uyuni Salt Flat and Incahuasi Island. This island is located in the heart of the salt flat and is the greatest of a group of islands that represents an isolated ecosystem.  The island is populated with a cacti specie that measures up to 12 meters high (26.25 feet), providing an impressive overview. Lunch or Box Lunch. In the afternoon return to Uyuni and overnight.

 

In rainy season from November to March, the salt flat could be flooded in that case passengers will visit the train cemetery, the Colchani village where it is possible to observe the extracting salt process by hand. Visit the salt eyes, impressive for its geology and cross the salt flat  as much as possible to enjoy a beautiful landscape. The entire salt flat is completely cover with water and it becomes in a white giant mirror where the sky is reflected perfectly and everything seems to be floating in the air.

This scenery is a paradise for photography lovers because of the effects that can be achieved. Box lunch is served in the middle of the salt flat. In the afternoon return to hotel.

It is advisable to wear sandals to enjoy the warm water of the salt.

 

Day 9:    Uyuni – La Paz

Day 10:     La Paz - Santiago de Chile - Easter Island

Breakfast in the hotel. This morning you will be transferred to the airport.

Day 11:    Easter Island

Anakena Full day excursion:

Departing from Hanga Roa's town at about 9:30 am, going to the southeast and northeast coast of the Island visiting the Ahu Vaihu temple, which is located 10 km from Hanga Roa. It consists of a stone platform with 8 Moais and 8 pukao dispersed in the proximities. Then, we will go to Ahu Akahanga , the also called as the "platform of the king". The legend tells that Hotu Matua'a's tomb is near this place. There, we will find 4 platforms, 12 Moais, 8 Pukao and towards the interior of this Ahu; it is possible to see the best preserved village of the island.

Later, we will go to Ahu Tongariki , with 15 moais being the biggest Ahu of the island. Then, we will meet Ahu Te Pito Kura, which possesses the highest statue of the island raised in an Ahu, the moai Paro (10 meters of height and 85 tons with a Pukao of 11,5 tons). Close to this ceremonial temple is the great spherical stone that is identified as the center of the universe, as the legend tells, it was brought to the island by Hotu Matua'a in his craft.

Later, we will arrive to Ahu Nau Nau, temple of a complex construction due to its different levels where we will find 5 Moais with Pukao. There, we will see petroglyphs in the backs of the statues. We will continue our excursion to the volcano and quarry Rano Raraku, where there was carved most of the moais of the island using the volcanic rock of its hillsides. There are an estimated number of 400 moais in several stages of carved.

To finish our adventure, we will go to Anakena's wonderful beach. It is a beach of white sands chosen for the arrival of the Ariki Hotu Matua'a and his sister Avareipua. Anakena corresponds to the name of a small cave of an adjacent gully.

Return to the populated Hanga Roa, total duration 8 hours.

 

Day 12:    Easter Island

Breakfast in the hotel.

Transfer to airport.

Day 1 Quito

Cuenca - the most beautiful colonial city of Ecuador. A classic example of European colonial city of Cuenca was founded by the Spaniards 12 April 1557 on the site of the Inca city Tomebamba, built on these lands Inca Tupac Yupanqui around 1470. In the local museum preserves treasures of ancient times, jewelry and ceramics, and in the solar observatory - an unusual calendar of the Incas.
