13:30 City Tour + 4 ruins

The tour starts at the Cathedral of Cusco, decorated with fine works in carved wood and impressive altars and beautiful paintings, made by the hands of local artists of the Cusqueña School, which hide hidden elements of indigenous thought. Then we will take a brief walk through the streets of the historic center towards the Qoricancha or Temple of the Sun, considered an indigenous religious sanctuary, where we will appreciate the fine work of lithic technology made by the Incas, with the highest level of hard stone cutting without being a sheet of paper can be inserted and that despite the earthquakes remain stable to date.

After the visit to the Qoricancha we will board the bus that will take us to Sacsayhuaman located 3km away. From the city of Cusco, Sacsayhuaman offers us a panoramic view of the city of Cusco; Sacsayhuaman was built with large blocks of limestone with a weight of 25 to 130 tons, integrated by three terraces superimposed in serpentine form (zigzag).

We will also arrive at Qenqo, which means “labyrinth”; it is located one kilometer from Sacsayhuaman and it consists of a construction based on limestone rock that shows a sculpture in stone in 500 square meters accompanied by structures that according to historians were used for the astronomical, religious and embalming and / or mummification purposes.

Then we will know Puca Pucara: from two Quechua words that means Puca (red) Pucara (fort)- "red fort", a strategic place for control and surveillance of access and exit from the Imperial city of Cusco, which was used as territorial border to divide the regions and establish the displacement regimes.

Finally we will visit Tambomachay: place of rest, located 9 km from the city of Cusco, better known as the Baños del Inca by the water sources, or also known as the waters of eternal youth by the flow of its waters that is constant and offers us part of the Inca trail that goes from Cusco to Machupicchu

The Hiram Bingham train is the most luxurious way to travel between Cusco and Machu Picchu. The Hiram Bingham provides a fascinating journey in comfort and some fantastic memories. The carriages are painted a distinctive blue and gold while interiors are comfortable, luxurious, warm and inviting. The cabins are elegantly decorated in in the style of the 1920's Pullman trains. As you step on board, you are invited into a world of polished wood, shining cutlery and glittering glass. The train consists of two Dining Cars, an Observation Bar Car and a Kitchen Car. In total, the train can carry up to 84 passengers. In the morning en route to Machu Picchu a brunch will be served as you enjoy the stunning landscape that surrounds you.

When you arrive, you will take the short bus to the archaeological site, meet your private guide, and marvel at one of the world’s most outstanding archaeological wonders. It’s hard to imagine that Machu Picchu was hidden from the world until 1911. After exploring the ruins, you will return to the hotel for afternoon tea.

You will enjoy this unique Inca citadel and its surrounding complexes on a private visit. Machu Picchu stands 2,430 m above sea-level. It is found in the middle of a tropical mountain forest in an extraordinarily beautiful setting. Machu Picchu was probably the most amazing urban creation of the Inca Empire at its height. The giant walls, terraces and ramps seem as if they have been cut naturally from the continuous rock escarpments. The natural environment on the eastern slopes of the Andes encompasses the upper Amazon basin with its rich diversity of wildlife. Entrance to the citadel is included.

Train departs at 17:50 hs. An elegant dinner will be served on board (including soft drinks, Peruvian wine and Pisco), while being entertained by our staff.
